Fashion/Shopping

It's fall which means it's time to put away your summer clothes and pull out your winter digs. If you're like me it's always fun to add some new pieces to your collection. A great place to pick up some new fashion items is Tanger Outlets in Mebane, and in Sunday's News & Observer you can find four 20% off coupons to select Tanger stores. Some of my fav stores accepting the coupons are Banana Republic, J. Crew and Lucky Brand Jeans. http://www.tangeroutlet.com/mebane

Don't get the Sunday paper? Well, you can buy the paper at the Dollar Tree all week long only for $1. For that price you will cover the costs in savings plus all the other coupons inside. Also subscribing to the Sunday N&O is a good deal too. No need to drive to the convenience store in the morning when all you have to do is walk out to the end of your driveway.

Beauty- OPI sale

One thing that is a mainstay with me is my polished toe nails. If my toes are bare then something is not right. I love to color my piggies according to the season too. So when I saw the sale on OPI polish at Ulta, I knew I needed to share it with the girls. Ulta is my favorite beauty product store. It's like a salon and beauty super store. They offer coupons and a loyalty club that offers even more coupons and savings. The OPI special includes all their discontinued colors 2 for $10. Usually one bottle costs $8.50. They have great fall colors too like Peach-a-Boo! and Bronzed to Perfection both perfect colors to bring to the table for Thanksgiving.

Shopping- "The List"

I talked about "The List" in an earlier blog, and I plan to post it the middle of November. The List will contain gift ideas for friends and family, and just about everyone on your Christmas list (even the difficult ones). I like to support small businesses and "the little guy" over the big retailers, but some big boxes might be listed as well. I hope you enjoy it; it will be a good resource for Christmas shopping.

Shopping- Coat Swap

The weather is getting cooler,so you might be in the market for a new winter coat. Be sure to check out the Coat Swap at the Great Outdoor Provision Company Oct. 21-30 located in Cameron Village in Raleigh and Eastgate Shopping center in Chapel Hill. Bring in a gently used coat and receive 20% off selected outerwear. Donations benefit local rescue missions. This is a really cool store. They have a great selection of canoes and camping supplies.

Shopping- Grand Openings

Yesterday, I was talking about Aldi, and I discovered a new Aldi is opening in Raleigh at the Sunrise Valley Place (off New Bern Ave) on November 3. If you never been to an Aldi, it's a different kind of grocery shopping experience. Bring a quarter to get a cart, but don't worry you'll get it back when you return your cart. They also don't carry national brands, so if you're looking for Peter Pan peanut butter you're not going to find it there, but they do have their own peanut butter brand. These are some of the ways they keep their prices low.

Also, the Omega Sports in Park West Village in Morrisville is now open.

The Moe's Southwest Grill off Weston Parkway has been reopened after renovations.

Shopping- Black Friday & Christmas shopping

I heard a rumor that Kohls is opening at midnight for Black Friday shoppers. Even if this is true you won't find me standing out in the cold waiting to get in the door to save a few bucks on a Christmas present. I use a different method for Christmas shopping. I shop for the individual. I look for something that is creative and unique for that person. I'd also rather enjoy my Thanksgiving holiday with my family than be wrapped up in the hustle and bustle. I love to shop, but I consider shopping to be more of an art especially when you're buying for others. Cyber Monday is your best bet for must-have toys and gadgets, but if you want to shop outside of the big-box stores this year check back later, and I will list a complete guide for everyone on your list, even those who seem to have it all.

Shopping- Grand Openings

There are two new stores opening in the Triangle this week. Petsmart in Morrisville's new Park West Village is having their grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 29 and Teavana is opening at The Streets at Southpoint mall in Durham on Friday, Oct. 28.

Deal- Aldi meat specials

Feeding a family of boys is not easy, but if they're meat and potato guys like mine then you'll appreciate the Wednesday meat specials at Aldi. This week you can get a Tyson Bone-in pork picnic shoulder roast only $1.59 per lb. Get out the crock pot and put in your roast. This will make some delicious BBQ. Don't forget the Sweet Baby Rays sauce.
